It’s Time to Call Out The Anti-Vaxxer and Anti-Masker Degenerates

 

I just got finished working as a supervisor for Elections Canada in one of the polling places here in Calgary. What I saw over the course of 5 days, the behaviors displayed by the anti-vax and anti-mask crowd, was a sight to see – both appalling in their ignorance and boldness but also of their cowardice and lack of conviction to their ideology. More on this later.

We are now in a 4^th wave of a global pandemic, where more people have died in the US than in the Spanish Flu. Here in Alberta, our hospitals are at 90% surge capacity and yet, we still have a gang of mongrels' shouting about their rights and freedoms. And my patience and tolerance for this behaviour has come to an abrupt end.

Back to my polling place.  We have a number of the, shall we say, “low information” voters barge in to our school and loudly pronounce, for all to hear, that we could not take away their right to vote. Now first off, a school is private property and can certainly demand a person wear a mask, no different than if in your home. Second, Calgary has a mask by-law in effect. Apparently, the law is not applicable to a segment of the less intellectually developed among us. And of course, these troglodytes had no concern about the health of the kids, election workers and other voters in the polling stations. Did I mention, it’s all about “THEM”? It’s never about “US”.  Listen to the yahoos speak. Its ME ME ME all day, every day.

I digress.

When we inform those who can’t figure it out that they have a right to vote but not a right to vote at this specific location and provided them with the alternative location for them to vote, most left our school without incident. For any anti-vax/maskers reading this, please don’t quote the Election Act to me. I know it a little better than you, to be sure.  There were a few yahoo’s though that openly challenged me and refused to leave the premises. I do love a good fight. After some back and forth…it’s exhausting talking at a 5 year old level, slowly…not a natural thing for me to do., we decided that I should call the police. Challenge accepted! So, once I pull out my phone and called 911 (I didn’t really – ACTING!), the couple’s lizard brain activated their fight or flight instincts and they decided that perhaps its better to live and fight another day instead of being charged with trespassing. Damn, I was hoping for a perp walk! I need some likes on Insta. 

So now we have our vaccine passports, but DON’T call them that in Alberta…..it’s akin to Nazi Germany around here apparently.  Reading the news this week, I see many stories of staff members and business’s being threatened by these degenerates. I work at the YMCA part-time and we see it there as well, with someone threatening violence on another staff member as recently as last night. Unacceptable and I am done accepting it as a reality.

So listen up you knuckle dragging mouth breathers, your rights are not without limits. I continually hear about your rights, oppression, whatever. You are not oppressed, Want oppression? Anti-vax ladies, lets fly over to Saudi Arabia and see you pull your best Karen impressions. Get your burkini's packed and surrender your drivers license. You are now property of men! Still not convinced? Let’s take a first class flight (comfort always a priority on a long haul flight) and go to Africa and sell your children into slave labour, mining rare earth metals for your cell phones. Do we really need to go on? Your rights are not being curtailed. YOU ARE NOT OPPRESED. The fact that you re allowed to be this willingly ignorant and irresponsible is a testament to your rights being intact. There have been and continue to be many opportunities to stand up for human rights violations across Canada. This is not one of them

Now, lets talk about all that “research” you are doing on Facebook and YouTube. It's NOT RESEARCH. All you are doing is finding someone to corroborate what you already believe. Unless you are a scientist running a peer reviewed study, you only know what you have been told by someone else. You DO NOT have better access to data than the CDC or Health Canada. You have Google and a flimsy (or no) grasp on science or logic. Give me a break with this “I did my own research” bullshit. We have experts for a reason. You don’t know how anything works, let alone the human body at a cellular level. You probably don’t know how a radio works. You are not medical doctors, credentialed scientists or experts. Well, maybe expert idiots, but again I digress. Research is not watching videos that support your worldview. What about the 1 expert you find who goes against the thousands of other experts? The onus is on THEM to disprove the accepted science, its not the other way around. I can certainly find you a “scientist” or “expert” who will tell you McDonalds is a part of a balanced diet or that smoking is not bad for you or that coal is somehow clean – would you believe them? Probably not, but why not? You can’t pick and choose the science you want to believe and disbelieve. Its not like changing your underwear. Gross. 

I suspect many of you anti-vaxxer’s/maskers are against health measures because you can’t do what you want, when you want. Cry me a WAAAAA-mbulance. This is what happens in a pandemic. And if it wasn’t obvious already, if we did what we should have done a year ago, like close the fucking shit down 100% until the virus ran its course, we may not be in a 4^th wave and people dying wouldn’t still be an inconvenience for your lifestyles. But no, your stupid libertarian childish ideology, ego, complete selfishness and lack of empathy for others has ensured we still in a pandemic situation. 

Now our hospitals are nearing capacity with the non-vaccinated getting Covid.  Thank you again for your devotion to yourselves and nobody else. You must be so proud to be taking up beds and resources from people who actually need medical care due to no fault of their own. So my father, with stage 4 cancer, may not get treatment or he may be triaged and die because you fucking imbeciles decided through your collective brain cell that you are more important than society as a whole and have condemned innocent people to die. There is a special place in hell for you (if you believe in that stuff). I am sure many of you so called “Christians” who profess to follow the teachings of Christ, still manage to hold your head up high but shame on you.

You should be denied health care if you get Covid and be denied a bed in a hospital. It’s a hoax or just a cold after all. If you show up to an emergency room because you can’t breathe, too fucking bad. It’s a nothing burger, remember? Your words, not mine.  You should also visit some families who have lost people to Covid, go on tell them it’s a hoax or a common cold or their immune system wasn't strong enough. Let’s see how strong your convictions really are. I assume you won’t, hiding behind your keyboards, it’s much easier to pontificate that way.

On this point, I want to say, that I really hope that Covid wreaks havoc on you and/or your family and your like-minded peers. I really don't want to wish ill will on anyone but it seems only when it hits home, you see the light. Like a true selfish asshole, until you are personally impacted, you will continue to violate the law and try to kill others. Bravo. You are great human beings. I look forward to when you are proven to be on the wrong side of history and you have to live with your conscience for the rest of your pathetic lives.

At least now with the introduction of vaccine passports, you have been effectively cut off from those of us who are responsible and have done what was required to keep us all safe. Have fun not being able to attend your kids sporting events, or even your kids from playing sports. Have fun not going to restaurants, the mall, bars or to a movie. Have fun not boarding a plane for a vacation or attending to your child's school play. Finally have fun not accessing a hospital where a loved one is dying or in need of you.  Remember YOU did this, no one else. YOU are responsible for the mess we are now in ..again. At least there is no where for you to go. And it's about fucking time.
